LENS Neurofeedback

What is LENS Neurofeedback?

LENS Neurofeedback, or Low Energy Neurofeedback System, is an effective tool that can help both children and adults by addressing the underlying symptoms associated with various diagnoses and difficulties. It uses tiny amounts of electromagnetic energy to help the central nervous system function more effectively. For children, this means improvements in focus, emotional control, and overall performance at home, and in social and academic settings. Adults can experience clearer thinking, reduced stress, and better emotional balance. By targeting the root causes of many issues, LENS Neurofeedback can make daily life easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

Tried Conventional Neurofeedback Before with Little to No Results?

LENS Neurofeedback differs from traditional approaches. Unlike conventional neurofeedback methods that typically require more sessions and involve adjusting brainwave frequencies manually, LENS Neurofeedback stands out for its efficiency and simplicity. LENS requires NO effort from the patient/client! This approach often results in quicker and more noticeable improvements, making it particularly suitable for children who may find traditional neurofeedback challenging.

What are the Benefit from LENS?

Whether you have a child dealing with attention issues or you are an adult coping with stress and mental health challenges, LENS Neurofeedback offers numerous benefits for individuals of all ages by improving central nervous system function and overall well-being. For children, it can enhance focus, emotional regulation, and academic performance, helping them thrive both in and out of school. Adults often experience clearer thinking, reduced stress, and better emotional balance, which can lead to an improved quality of life. This gentle, non-invasive approach is safe and backed by scientific research, making it a valuable tool for addressing a variety of mental and neurological conditions.

Does LENS Have to be Done with Therapy?

LENS can be effectively used both as a standalone treatment and in conjunction with traditional therapy. When used on its own, LENS Neurofeedback helps the central nervous system reset and optimize its function by reducing maladaptive patterns, which can lead to improvements in focus, emotional regulation, and overall mental health. When combined with therapy, LENS Neurofeedback can enhance the therapeutic process by preparing the central nervous system to be more receptive to other treatment methods. This combination can accelerate progress in therapy by addressing underlying issues, making it easier for individuals to engage in and benefit from therapeutic interventions. Whether used alone or alongside therapy, LENS Neurofeedback offers a flexible and powerful approach to improving mental health and well-being.

FAQs

  • Let's schedule a free 15 minute consultation so we can learn more about each other. Just fill in the information on our website.

  • "Therapy is a way for kids to talk about their feelings and thoughts through play. Instead of using just words, you get to use toys, games, and art to show what's going on inside your heart and mind. The play therapist is like a friend who helps you express yourself and understand your emotions better. It's a special time just for you to play and learn how to work through hard things."

  • Honestly, not much. The terms "therapy" and "counseling" are often used interchangeably, and their meanings can overlap. Therapy is a broader term that encompasses various forms of treatment for mental, emotional, or behavioral issues, while counseling implies a more focused, problem-solving approach to specific issues or challenges. Professionals providing therapy may include psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists (like here at GAC), and licensed clinical social workers. Counselors often hold titles such as licensed professional counselors (also here at GAC), marriage and family therapists, school counselors, or career counselors.

  • We are a private pay practice. The short to explanation as to "Why?" is because insurance companies require a diagnosis when sometimes one is not medically necessary, billing insurance limits confidentiality, insurance controls how many sessions you are allotted, AND they determine what modalities of treatment are covered which may not be suitable for your needs. With private pay, we can create a customized treatment plan specifically catered to you and your needs. We are happy to provide a superbill for you to file with your insurance company, although there is no guarantee of coverage.

  • If you are seeking services for your child, the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will join the child during the first session. This is our time to get to know each other, go over confidentiality and informed consent, how therapy is conducted, discuss the reason for services, and create treatment goals.
